Mother Nature provides many more home remedies at a fraction of the cost of the pharmaceutical giants myraid products. My initial search for a natural home remedy for ingrown hairs... led me to the library. I found that ancient cultures from the Far East to India... as well as... Native American Indians used nature to cure their ailments. It is interesting to note that until the late forties... country doctors carried honey on their home visits! Why? Honey is a natural antibiotic. These natural home remedies for ingrown hairs are the best. I found them to be the great at healing and soothing ingrown hairs. Aloe Vera-- One of Mother Nature's best home remedies. Buy an aloe vera product that is 99% pure at the drugstore. Apply the aloe vera twice daily to the ingrown hair for 3 days. Usually, after three days the inflamation and itch from your ingrown hair will be gone. The aloe vera plant has been used for centuries to heal cuts and scrapes! Sugar Facial Mask-- Use this economical mask to heal and soothe your ingrown hair. Ingredients-- I cup of sugar I/2 medium lemon or (ACV) 1 1/2 tsp of cornstarch 1/4 cup of honey 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar Squeeze the lemon into a microwavable bowl, and add the sugar, cornstarch, and honey. Heat for a couple of minutes, and then stir until thoroughly mixed. Let mixture cool a bit. (Note- If using the the 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar-- especially if your using organic ACV -- a Lightly dust cornstarch on the skin around the ingrown hair... other areas to be treated. The cornstarch will absorb the oil on the skin surface. Spread the mixture on the skin using a popsicle stick. Leave this mixture on the skin for twenty minutes and then wash off with warm water. You will find that your skin will be very soft and smooth ... and less irritated. You may need to do this only once to gain relief. If you feel the need for a second application... wait three days. Why this works? I'll tell you anyway. Sugar cane is the basic ingredient in glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is used to exfoliate and even out skin tone. It is used in alot of salon skin peels. Lemon is a citric acid that also exfoliates and unclogs the skin pores. Honey is nature's antibiotic and will kill the bacteria that are causing the itching and inflammation. If I didn't mention before, the lemon and apple cider vinegar together, may be too harsh for your skin. Use either or. Apple cider vinegar, especially organic, is also an acid which exfoliates but, has the added benefit of reducing the swelling and irritation of ingrown hairs. As you can see, you have several ingredients all working together to heal your ingrown hair! Additionally, you can use the mask for ingrown hair removal. If your skin is not too irritated... place a cloth strip in the mixture after you apply to your skin. When the mixture has dried... rapidly pull the strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth. I found the pain to be "medium" at my pain tolerance. Me I'm a wimp... These are the best natural home remedies for ingrown hairs that I found. The sugar mask also has the added benefit of preventing ingrown hairs. More on preventing ingrown hairs next section...
